Synopsis
Sienna is the head cheerleader and a trustee's daughter, forced by her mother to room with Reese, the top student. She draws a line down the middle: “You're a lesbian. I need protection.” Reese replies coolly: “Maybe you'll be the one falling for me.” Sienna doesn't believe it—but finds herself drawn to Reese anyway: buying matching wetsuits so Reese can swim comfortably, rushing back from her mother's birthday party with cake when Reese has a fever, and defending Reese when Preston humiliates her. When Sienna stands on graduation stage and says “Reese, I love you” in front of the entire school, Vivienne finally tears up: “You truly love my daughter.” From lines on the floor to intertwined fingers, this dorm-room crush crosses every prejudice and distance to find its way home.
