Avery longs to have the power to protect her mother, so she disguises herself as a boy and enters the male-only magic school. Her roommate Rhett is also in disguise, being the last dragon prince alive. Brought together by fate, they carefully cover their identities, even acting as a gay couple. They then go on their fated adventure to bring down the tyrant and revoke the ban on dragons and women learning magic.
